On Friday, 9th May, Herne Bay High School, in partnership with EBP Kent, hosted a fantastic mock interview event for our Year 10 students!
We were delighted to welcome professionals from local businesses and institutions, who generously gave their time to provide personal, one-on-one interviews for each student. The goal? To build confidence, strengthen communication skills, and prepare our students for real-world job interviews.
Ahead of the interviews, students had a presentation on interview techniques, covering verbal communication, active listening, body language, and CV writing—essential skills for success! Following their interviews, they received valuable feedback to reflect on their strengths and areas for improvement. A proud moment: Many students impressed our interviewers, with some identified as immediately employable, while others received exciting opportunities for work experience and future employment.
Mrs Wrigley and Mrs Santer were incredibly proud of the dedication and effort students put into presenting themselves. Even those who felt nervous tackled the challenge head-on—an inspiring display of resilience and ambition!
A huge thank you to our industry volunteers for making this event possible. Your support and expertise have given our students a real taste of the future, and we can’t wait to host this event again next year!
