- Saturday 11th and Saturday 18th November 2023 - Banding Assessments held at Herne Bay High
- 1st March 2024 - National Offer day
- 15th March 2024 - Deadline to return waiting list request form to KCC
- 28th March 2024 - Deadline to return appeal form to Kelly Molloy at Herne Bay High School
- April to June 2024 - Admission Appeals held
All students applying to join Herne Bay High School in Year 7 in September 2024 will need to have sat our Banding Assessment; it does not guarantee your child a place at our school, but students will not be offered a place if they haven't sat the assessment. If you have put Herne Bay High School as one of the choices on your Secondary Common Application Form (SCAF) and have not yet applied for your child to sit our banding assessment, please email the school at year6@hernebayhigh.org as soon as possible.
Appeal For Year 7 Entry September 2024
If your child is due to start secondary school in September 2024, you must submit your appeal before Thursday 28 March 2024.

On Tuesday, Mrs Kelleher and Mr Hamilton took two Year 9 students, Vincent and Oliver to Abbey School Faversham to compete in a fun inter-school Chess Tournament organised by the EKST Partnership.
The hours of practice paid off; the boys were on top form using their skills to time moves and play by tournament rules.
Well done boys! We are looking forward to seeing your strategies in our own tournament being held later this year.

The Art Department are so proud of two of their A Level Artists, who were announced as winners of the ‘Ron Woodward Art Competition’. The prize giving and private view was held on Saturday 20th April, where Ron’s widow handed out prizes.
Hannah was the overall winner of the painting prize, for her wonderful depiction of climate change, and Olivia won runner up prize, for photography exploring consumerism and waste.
Congratulations to all students involved. The exhibition runs at Beach Creative CIC until Thursday 25th April.

Congratulations are in order for both our fabulous teams of year 10 students who took part in the Advanced Mathematics Support Programme Mathsfeast at Canterbury Academy recently.
Mrs Hoare took 8 of our best mathematicians plus Josh B as a supporting sixth former, where they took part in 4 stretching problem solving rounds of a competition.
One of our teams team won Round 1 convincingly and the other team was equal winners in both rounds 2 and 3, leaving our teams placed 2nd and 3rd overall out of 13 teams taking part from 10 different schools around Kent.
Thanks also to Mrs Rivers who arranged all the admin for the trip.
Well done all you did us proud!
