Herne Bay High School is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and highly effective Teacher of Computer Science to join our successful and supportive Technology faculty. This is an exciting opportunity for a committed practitioner to inspire students, develop their own practice, and contribute to shaping a positive and aspirational school culture.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver high-quality Computer Science lessons that secure strong pupil progress and engagement
  • Plan and teach a broad and balanced curriculum across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5)
  • Foster a classroom environment built on high expectations, challenge, and support
  • Promote excellent behaviour for learning and student participation
  • Use assessment effectively to inform teaching and accelerate progress
  • Contribute to curriculum development and the creation of high-quality teaching resources
  • Support students’ wider development through enrichment opportunities, clubs, or competitions
  • Work collaboratively within a committed and forward-thinking department
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues
  • Contribute fully to whole-school initiatives and uphold school policies and values

About the School

Herne Bay High School is a large and highly successful Single Academy Trust serving the Herne Bay coastal area of North Kent. The school is significantly oversubscribed in all year groups and was rated Good with an Outstanding Sixth Form by Ofsted in June 2022.
