Join Our Team as a Student Support Manager!
Hours: 37hours per week/ Term time plus 1 week
Are you passionate about supporting students and families to thrive in their education? We are looking for a dedicated Student Support Manager to enhance student wellbeing, attendance, and inclusion at our school.
What “Term Time Plus” Means
This role follows the school calendar, meaning you work during student term time only, plus an additional 5 days across the year for essential training, preparation or key school events.
Although you do not work all year round and your salary reflects this, your salary is spread evenly over 12 months, giving you consistent monthly pay while enjoying significantly more time away from work during school holidays.
This structure offers the stability of set hours alongside a healthier work–life balance than a typical full-year role — perfect for those who value both meaningful work and personal time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide tailored support to students and their families, ensuring a positive school experience.
- Monitor attendance and work with families to address concerns, promoting regular school engagement.
- Act as a safeguarding point of contact, ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all students.
- Promote mental health initiatives and connect students with relevant support services.
- Collaborate with teaching staff and external agencies to foster an inclusive environment.
Person Specification:
Experience and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in student support, attendance management, or related field.
- Understanding of the DfE document Working together to improve school attendance.
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures in line with Keeping children safe in education 2025.
Key Skills:
- Ability to monitor and analyse attendance data, identifying patterns and trends.
- Strong communication skills for liaising with families regarding attendance issues.
- Competence in early identification of students needing support to attend regularly.
- Experience working collaboratively with compliance and attendance teams.
Safeguarding Responsibilities:
- Attend regular safeguarding training and maintain compliance with statutory guidance.
- Act as a point of contact for safeguarding concerns and respond to incidents appropriately.
- Keep accurate records of safeguarding interventions and support students at risk.
Student Wellbeing:
- Knowledge of services available to support families and students, including Early Help and Preventative Services.
