New Equipment for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award students

This year Herne Bay High School has launched the Duke of Edinburgh Award starting with 29 Year 9 students undertaking their Bronze award. Students are currently preparing for their practice expedition which takes place on the weekend of the 9/10th June where they have already learnt the skills of planning and preparation for this. Along with the expedition section, students are also required to undertake set objectives in areas such as volunteering, physical and skills.

To aid students in completing their award a generous donation of £1,300 from Redrow Homes along with six of their sub-contractors has enabled the purchase of backpacks, map cases, foam mats and tents with the additional money going to helping fund the students' practice and assessed expeditions.
