Year 10 Maths Feast

On Wednesday 14th March eight Year 10 students, accompanied by Miss Horn, travelled to Canterbury to take part in the Year 10 Maths Feast 2018, hosted by the Further Maths Support Programme (FMSP).
The Maths Feast is a local competition where teams of four enter to compete against other schools. We were lucky enough to be the only school allowed to enter two teams, a boys team and a girls team, due to our strong links with the FMSP. The competition was very challenging and we faced tough competition from the likes of King's School, Simon Langton Girls and Boys Schools and other local grammar schools.

The competition was split into four rounds and our girls' team consisting of Emma Kitney, Rebecca Davies, Tilly Compton and Emmeline Berry did extremely well – winning round three and beating all the other schools! The girls received a certificate and a photograph was taken of them to go on the FMSP’s website.
In addition to their amazing win, Miss Horn received an extremely nice comment from the teacher supervising their table who said: "Can I just comment on what a pleasure it has been working with your students, they are a credit to you and your school."
The boy’s team consisting of Jack Yeatman, William Gladwell, Evan Chandler and Sol Sanders also experienced success in receiving a certificate for demonstrating great teamwork during the competition – something that the organisers were particularly keen on celebrating.

A great achievement by both teams – well done
