Vattenfall visit – Careers assemblies

On Thursday and Friday this week we saw Mel Rogers from Vattenfall visit our year 9, 10 and 11 Geographers to present an assembly about potential careers in the local area. With all 3 year groups beginning to focus on the future (exams and options) the Geography department organised for Vattenfall, the organisation who own and operate the Kentish Flats Wind Farm (alongside others in our area) to come and talk about their business and how Geography links to careers within their organisation. Mel highlighted to students about a range of opportunities there are in the wind farm business and how these opportunities will be available to our students as they reach working age. It was great to see the 3 year groups have an opportunity to hear about a range of different careers and jobs that are available in Kent and increasingly around the world and help them to consider how Herne Bay High can prepare them.
