A Level Results - 17th August 2017

We are celebrating another successful year of A level results.

We are delighted that over 50% of the A Level entries achieved grades A*- C. This is testament to the students’ hard work, determination and resilience along with the quality teaching and support provided by the school.

This year 100% pass rates were achieved in the following A Level subjects: Art Graphics. Art Photography, Art Textiles, English Language/Literature, English Literature, Fine Art, Further Mathematics, Geography, Health and Social Care, Mathematics, Media Studies, Physics, Psychology and Sociology.

Our vocational subjects excelled and as a Sports College we are have continued the 100% pass rate on the Btec Sport (Development, Coaching & Fitness) courses with all of the students (double or triple A Level) achieving Distinction grades.

The Performing Arts Btec 90 Credit students continue to excel with 97% achieving Distinction grades. We are delighted that two of these students will be joining dance conservatoires in London, which is a real accolade for the students concerned as well as the school’s performing arts department.

Within the Work Related Learning department, 98% of students achieved Distinction grades, with many of them choosing to continue this area of study at university.

Of the students who sat their final exams this summer over 70% of them will be going to university and have secured a place, studying a wide range of courses. In addition to more traditional subjects we also have students opting for courses in Accounting, Adult Mental Health Nursing, Aeronautical, Business, Primary Teaching, a variety of courses in Sport and Theatre and Dance. Although some students have elected to follow higher education courses locally, two thirds of the cohort are choosing to study at a university outside Kent, including Aberystwyth, Chichester, Falmouth, Leicester, London, Nottingham Trent, Roehampton and Southampton.

Other students will be taking up workplaces or undertaking professional training. A small number of students have elected to work and travel on a Gap Year. We would like to wish all of our students every success for their future pathway.

Over 160 students have applied to join the 6th Form in September and we remain in a strong position to offer a full range of successful courses for the students who live in and around Herne Bay.
